BREAKING: Afenifere youth leader regains freedom after 12 days in captivity

Eniola Olajuni, the National President of the Afenifere Youth Council, has been released after spending 12 days in the hands of his abductors.

His freedom was confirmed on Saturday by the National Secretary of the Youth Council, Biodun Aderohunmu, through a brief WhatsApp message that read, “He has been released.”

Olajuni was abducted on Monday, February 17, 2025, while on his way to Abuja for a meeting. His captors had demanded N100 million and two tricycles as ransom before letting him go.

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, had earlier deployed the Intelligence Response Team to secure his release after a video surfaced online, showing Olajuni at gunpoint, pleading for help from Nigerians.
