BREAKING: Senator Natasha accuses Akpabio of sexual harassment amid Senate dispute

Must read

In a shocking new twist to the ongoing feud in the Senate, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment.

The Kogi Central lawmaker made the allegations during her interview on Arise TV on Friday, February 28, 2025.

While speaking on the interview, she alleged that “Akpabio while taking her on a tour of his house alongside her husband on her birthday, whispered to her that she could spend quiet time with her in his house.”

She also alleged that the Senate president had also told her in his office that, “He could approve anything for her so long as she makes him happy.”

Going further Natasha also alleged that, “She had received several threat calls from the senate president, warning she could go down should she expose the senate president.”

The Kogi Senator further claimed that Akpabio’s actions towards her extend beyond legislative disagreements to gender-based harassment and intimidation.

This development comes amid an ongoing clash between the two senators, which began with a dispute over her seat in the Senate chamber.

AFRIPOST had initially reported that Akpoti-Uduaghan had earlier filed a ₦100 billion defamation lawsuit against Akpabio and one of his aides, following derogatory comments allegedly made about her.

The latest accusation has sparked fresh concerns about the treatment of female lawmakers in Nigeria’s political space, with rights groups and activists calling for a thorough investigation.
