A Lagos High Court in Ikeja has ruled that all members of the Lagos State House of Assembly be included as parties in the lawsuit filed by Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.
Justice Yetunde Pinheiro, who presided over the case, has scheduled the hearing of all pending applications for March 7.
Obasa initiated the legal action to contest his removal as Speaker of the House by 36 legislators on January 13, 2025.
In an application submitted on February 12, 2025, through his legal representative, Chief Afolabi Fashanu (SAN), he argued that his removal occurred while he was out of the country.
The legal teams involved in the case are led by prominent Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs).
Mr Tayo Oyetibo (SAN) is heading the defence for Hon. Mojisola Meranda, while Femi Falana (SAN) is leading a team, including Muiz Banire (SAN), to represent the 36 lawmakers.
Additionally, Olu Daramola (SAN) and Dada Awosika (SAN) are representing other interested parties seeking to be included in the lawsuit.
