Gov Uba Sani, NSA Ribadu empowering bandits – El-Rufai

Must read

Former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has alleged that his successor, Governor Uba Sani, and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, are taking actions that inadvertently strengthen bandits operating in the region.

AFRIPOST had reported days back how a group of bandits attacked a local government in Kaduna and kidnapped over 30 residents; with this report, a user on X, @realYusufTukur, highlighted the kidnapping incident.

He expressed frustration while lamenting that such reports failed to gain widespread attention because El-Rufai was no longer in power.

He also accused the NSA of prioritizing politics over security.

The abduction occurred in Kagarko Local Government Area, where the armed criminals stormed the community, taking 39 individuals, including the Fulani leader of Janjala, Alhaji Atah Adamu Wakili, a nursing mother, and other residents.

Reacting to Yusuf’s post, El-Rufai asserted that the kidnappers would likely receive ransom payments to release their captives, after which the NSA would publicly hand over the freed victims to the state government in a ceremonial display.

El-Rufai criticized this approach, stating that it prioritizes propaganda over effective governance.

The former governor further warned that such financial incentives only empower criminals, enabling them to acquire more advanced weapons and escalate their activities in Kaduna and beyond.

According to him, this cycle has become the new operating strategy under the current administration.
