Security forces from the 3 Division and Operation Safe Haven have arrested two notorious kidnappers and terrorists in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State.
The suspects were apprehended during a sting operation based on intelligence reports.
According to Zagazola, the operation, named Operation Golden Peace, took place on February 24 at approximately 2:20 p.m. in Lugere Sho, Barkin Ladi.
The raid was launched after valuable intelligence was extracted from a suspect detained on February 22.
During the mission, troops also captured another high-profile criminal in Kwok Village, Barkin Ladi LGA.
The suspect, currently in custody, has been making critical confessions about past kidnappings and other criminal activities across Plateau and Nasarawa States.
Military intelligence revealed that one of the arrested individuals admitted to sustaining gunshot wounds from a previous encounter with security forces.
The suspects have also disclosed information about their accomplices and their hideouts within Barkin Ladi LGA.
In response, security operatives have intensified follow-up operations to track down and apprehend the remaining members of the criminal network.
