Nigerian billionaire and Executive Vice Chairman of Famfa Oil, Folorunsho Alakija, has lost her sight completely at the age of 73.
According to a report by SaharaReporters, the incident occurred after a frightening near-air mishap, though the exact details of the event remain undisclosed.
It is alleged that her loss of vision was triggered by a sudden spike in blood pressure during the trip, which she took alongside her husband, Modupe Alakija.
Meanwhile, the news has shocked many who admire her achievements.
According to reports, instead of seeking urgent medical care after the incident, Alakija chose to establish a church, which allegedly led to her condition worsening over time.
The report, also shared by Instablog9ja and Elites Africa on X today, states that she later bought a private jet to travel separately from her husband, but her sight could not be restored.
Despite this, her last public appearance on February 20 at a book launch in Abuja did not indicate any signs of distress.
