Ondo CP orders tight security ahead of Aiyedatiwa’s swearing-in

The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, has directed the deployment of security personnel and measures to ensure a safe and orderly swearing-in ceremony for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Aiyedatiwa is set to be sworn in as governor on Monday, and security arrangements have been put in place to safeguard attendees and maintain order at the venue.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday in Akure by the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Funmilayo Odunlami.

According to Afolabi, the security deployment is designed to facilitate a smooth event, with restrictions placed on security escorts accompanying Very Important Persons (VIPs).

He stated that armed escorts would not be permitted entry with rifles but may remain stationed around designated areas near the venue.

To ease movement and reduce congestion, the commissioner advised commuters to use alternative routes and urged vehicle owners to avoid parking around the stadium area. He warned that improperly parked vehicles could face damage, obstruction, or removal.

“All security agencies will be present to enforce compliance with these measures,” Afolabi stated, urging residents to cooperate to ensure a peaceful and organized event.
