Security personnel in Tsafe Local Government Area (LGA) of Zamfara State have apprehended a suspected drug trafficker accused of supplying illicit substances worth millions of naira to terrorists operating in the region.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared the news on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday night, highlighting the significance of the arrest in ongoing security operations.
Reacting to the development, the Chairman of Tsafe Local Government Council, Malam Garba Shehu Fanchers, described the suspect’s capture as a significant victory in the battle against insecurity.
“This achievement is the result of our security forces’ dedication and the unwavering support of our people.
“As chairman, I remain committed to ensuring the safety of lives and property,” Fanchers stated.
He reiterated that Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration places a high priority on security and is determined to eliminate criminal networks across Zamfara State.
“With your prayers and cooperation, we will defeat terrorism and restore peace to our communities,” he added.
Fanchers also called on residents to continue supporting security agencies, expressing confidence that more successes would follow as the crackdown on criminal activities intensifies.
