The Nigeria Police Force has launched an investigation into allegations that a teacher at Aliyu Mustafa Academy in Jimeta-Yola subjected a secondary school student to torture.
Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi confirmed the ongoing inquiry while cautioning the public against acts of brutality.
He emphasized that excessive force should not be mistaken for discipline or corrective measures.
Adejobi shared this update on his X handle on Saturday, February 22, stressing that bullying is both cruel and criminal.
“The Adamawa State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the alleged torture of a student by his teacher.
“Brutality and bullying should not be confused with moderate correction or discipline,” he stated.
Authorities have yet to disclose the teacher’s identity, but the case remains under investigation.
