The Ogun State Police Command has launched an investigation into the mysterious death of a local farmer, identified as Mustapha, in the Ijaka-Oke community of Yewa North Local Government Area.
According to police reports, Mustapha had left for his farm on Tuesday but failed to return home, prompting concerns among his family members.
A search was initiated, and his lifeless body was later discovered in the area, raising suspicions about the circumstances of his death.
The Police Public Relations Officer for the Ogun State Command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday. She stated that preliminary findings indicate no visible injuries on the deceased, making the cause of death unclear.
However, the police have assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the facts surrounding the incident.
“The case has been transferred to the Homicide Department of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further inquiries,” Odutola said.
Meanwhile, the incident has left the Ijaka-Oke community in shock, with residents and family members awaiting more details from law enforcement authorities.
