Someone paid us N50m to kill him – Kidnappers of Afenifere youth leader

The abductors of Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, the National President of the Afenifere National Youth Council, have revealed that they were paid N50 million naira to kill the youth leader.

They also issued a 48-hour ultimatum, threatening to kill him if his family fails to pay a N100 million ransom.

In an audio recording obtained by SaharaReporters, a tense exchange between the kidnappers and Ojajuni’s relatives revealed ongoing negotiations over the ransom.

During the conversation, a family member pleaded for a reduction, explaining that they could not afford such a large sum.

Speaking under duress, Ojajuni disclosed that his captors had already shot him in the buttock as a warning and remained firm in their demand.

The family member desperately asked, “What can we do? How do we raise the money?”

They explained that they were attempting to sell a piece of family land to gather funds, inquiring about the payment process.

The kidnappers insisted that the ransom must be paid in cash.

When the family offered ₦10 million, the response was harsh: “God forbid bad thing. If you keep talking nonsense, I swear to Almighty God you won’t hear from me again.

“My boss set the ransom at ₦100 million. If you can offer something better, let me know.”

Ojajuni, in another call with a senior family member, recounted the events leading to his abduction.

He explained that he had initially planned to travel on Sunday but rescheduled for Monday due to network disruptions.

While en route to a meeting in Abuja, gunmen ambushed him between Ondo and Kabba, opening fire on his vehicle.

“They didn’t block the road. They just started shooting. I’m bleeding, and they’re demanding ₦100 million,” he said.

The family continued to plead, stressing that Ojajuni had no money and urging the kidnappers to lower their demands.

However, the gang leader issued a chilling response:

“If he has nothing, listen carefully. I’m not forcing you to find money, but I still have bullets. I already shot him once, and I can shoot him again.”

In a shocking revelation, the kidnapper claimed they had been paid ₦50 million to abduct and kill Ojajuni.

“Someone paid us ₦50 million to kidnap him and execute him. We were instructed to behead him, cut off his manhood, and remove his eyes. If you don’t pay, forget about this man,” the kidnapper warned.

As negotiations continued, the family desperately pleaded for mercy, seeking a way to secure Ojajuni’s release before the deadline expired.
