Popular on-air personality, Nedu Wazobia, has addressed the controversies surrounding his role on The Honest Bunch podcast, clarifying the circumstances of his departure from the show.
In a video sighted by AFRIPOST, Nedu stated that he was not dismissed but chose to step down due to mounting public scrutiny and backlash.
He acknowledged that everyone is entitled to their opinions, but he ultimately decided to leave to avoid unnecessary conflicts.
“Instead of engaging in unnecessary disputes, I have chosen to step away and let things be,” he explained.
Responding to claims that he instigated controversies on the podcast, Nedu asserted that his role was simply to facilitate open discussions.
“My job was to create a relaxed environment for guests while asking thought-provoking questions that spark conversations and debates,” he said.
The controversy erupted after comedian and reality star, DeeOne, alleged on the podcast that social media critic, VeryDarkMan (VDM), had romantic relationships with men.
In response, VDM accused Nedu of orchestrating the allegations and leaking private conversations between them.
Also, VDM accused Nedu of inappropriate behavior, claiming he had shared personal details about his past relationships in confidence.
Amid the growing backlash, Nedu officially stepped down from the podcast on February 14. However, speculation arose that he had been fired due to the controversy.
Addressing the situation further, Nedu expressed frustration over how he had been treated, revealing his decision to cut off public access to him.
“To be honest, I’m done being nice. People have taken my kindness for granted and exploited me in the name of friendship,” he declared.
“I’m tired of being used. If you have my number, kindly delete it. I don’t want to be reachable anymore. It’s time for me to focus on myself and my well-being. The nice Nedu is gone for good.”
Meanwhile, his management team has strongly condemned the accusations against him, describing them as malicious and unacceptable.
“These allegations have gone beyond mere gossip; they have become outright character attacks. Legal action will be taken against those spreading falsehoods,” the statement read.
