Afenifere Youth President shot, kidnapped, gunmen demand ₦100m ransom

‍The National President of the Afenifere Youth Council, Eniola Ojajuni, has been abducted by unidentified gunmen in Abuja.

Reports indicate that Ojajuni was shot twice in the buttocks before being taken by his assailants on Monday, February 17, 2025.

In a statement, the council’s National Secretary, Abiodun Aderohunmu, expressed deep concern over the incident, revealing that the kidnappers are demanding a ₦100 million ransom for his release.

“The Afenifere National Youths Council is devastated by the abduction of our National President, Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, in Abuja.

The kidnappers have requested a ransom of ₦100 million. Unfortunately, Prince Ojajuni sustained gunshot wounds during the attack,” Aderohunmu stated.

He urged the Federal Government and security agencies to take immediate action to secure Ojajuni’s safe release. He also appealed to Nigerians who might have relevant information to assist in the rescue efforts.

A council member, confirming the incident, added, “The kidnapping occurred on February 17. He was shot twice and is currently wounded. The abductors insist on ₦100 million or nothing.”

Security agencies are yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
