A student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO), identified as Oluwaseun, has reportedly been killed by unidentified attackers.
The tragic incident occurred at Opomulero Street in Owo, located in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Oluwaseun, a Mass Communication student who had recently gained admission into the institution, was said to have spent only a few weeks on campus before his untimely demise.
A fellow student, who preferred to remain anonymous, described the deceased as a promising individual who served as the course representative and was also a musician.
“He was a fresher and had been in school for just about three to four weeks. Unfortunately, he was attacked with a machete. Losing him this way is heartbreaking,” the source lamented.
Confirming the incident, the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Samuel Ojo, expressed deep regret over the tragic event.
