The Ogun State Police Command has declared popular singer Habeeb Olalomi, widely known as “Portable,” wanted for allegedly assaulting officials from the state’s Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
This declaration follows an incident nearly two weeks ago when the singer allegedly attacked three government staff members who were inspecting his project in Ota.
According to the police, Portable, along with nine accomplices, was armed with firearms and other weapons during the violent confrontation against the officials—identified as Onabanjo Abidemi, Raymond Lateef, and Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi.
While the police have since arrested his nine accomplices, Portable managed to evade capture and has remained in hiding.
The spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, CSP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Monday.
She explained that on February 5, 2025, at approximately 10 a.m., officials from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development in Ota were carrying out an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota.
During their inspection, they met an elderly man—later identified as Portable’s father—at Odogwu Bar in the area and requested to see the approved building plan.
The father informed them that his son was not available at the time.
However, shortly after, Portable arrived at the scene, allegedly armed with a gun and other weapons, leading a group of nine men in an attack on the unarmed government officials.
The officials sustained injuries but managed to escape and reported the assault to the Ota Area Command, which escalated the matter to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further action.
Despite multiple invitations from the Ogun State Police Command for questioning, Portable has refused to appear or send legal representation.
As a result, authorities have obtained a valid court order declaring him wanted.
The police are urging the public to provide any useful information that could lead to his arrest.
Additionally, they warned that anyone found sheltering or assisting the fugitive will face legal repercussions.
Concerned citizens are encouraged to report any relevant information to the nearest police station or contact the Ogun State Police Command through its official communication channels.
