Umar Namashaya Diggi, a former chairman of Kalgo Local Government Area in Kebbi State, has been reported missing following an attack by suspected bandits along the Birnin Kebbi-Diggi road.
According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, Diggi was allegedly pursued by an unidentified vehicle upon reaching Gayi village.
Security sources revealed that the incident took place on February 17 at approximately 12:30 a.m. while Diggi was travelling back to his village from Birnin Kebbi.
“The attackers forced him to halt, set his Toyota Corolla (with registration number KLG 637 AA) on fire, and then fled. His current whereabouts remain unknown,” a police source reportedly stated.
