Olohundare Jimoh appointed as new Lagos police commissioner

The Police Service Commission has appointed Olohundare Moshood Jimoh as the new Commissioner of Police for Lagos State.

According to a statement from Ikechukwu Ani, the Commission’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Jimoh previously served as the Commissioner of Police for the Eastern Ports under the Nigerian Ports Authority.

A native of Kwara State, Jimoh has held several key positions in the police force, including Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner of Airport Police, Deputy Commissioner of Finance and Administration, and Deputy Commissioner of General Investigation.

Before his confirmation, he appeared before a panel comprising the Commission’s Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (retd.); retired Supreme Court Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje, who represents the Judiciary; and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (retd.), the Commissioner representing the Police.
