Senator Shehu Sani has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), alongside several other prominent politicians in Kaduna State. Governor Uba Sani warmly received the new members, assuring them of equal rights and opportunities within the party.
Speaking at a massive rally held at Murtala Square on Saturday, Governor Sani emphasized that all APC members, whether long-standing or newly registered, would enjoy the same status.
“There is no difference between someone who joined APC today and those who have been in the party for ten years. They will all be treated equally, with the same rights and privileges,” he said.
He encouraged the defectors to inform their supporters about APC’s open-door policy, stressing that the party remains ready to welcome more members. According to the governor, APC’s growing popularity is a result of its commitment to just and fair leadership at both the state and national levels.
Governor Sani expressed confidence that the party would dominate the 2027 elections, predicting victories across all levels.
“In 2027, Nigerians will vote for APC from top to bottom. At the national level, President Bola Tinubu will be re-elected, and at the state level, APC will win the gubernatorial, National Assembly, and State Assembly elections, by God’s grace,” he declared.
He also assured residents that his administration would continue executing projects across the state without bias, regardless of party affiliations, ethnic backgrounds, or religious beliefs.
“Politics is separate from governance. We will be fair to all, whether they voted for us or not, because that is the oath of office we swore to uphold,” he added.
Acknowledging that leaders are not infallible, he urged citizens to offer constructive criticism when necessary, emphasizing that those in leadership positions would be held accountable for their stewardship.
Among the notable figures who defected to APC were former Kaduna State Governor Alhaji Muktar Ramalan-Yero, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, NNPP’s 2023 gubernatorial candidate Alhaji Sani Sha’aban, and Senator Danjuma Laah of the PDP.
Others included Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha, a former National Organizing Secretary of the PDP, and Ambassador Sule Buba, Nigeria’s former envoy to South Korea.
