Must read

The Ogun State Police Command has intercepted 20 young individuals found carrying dangerous weapons while traveling in a truck.

According to the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the group was stopped on Saturday by a police team led by Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo.

The interception took place along several locations, including Eledumare, Bamboo 1 & 2, Fidiwo 1 & 2, Foursquare, Alapako, and Onigari—areas within Ogun State and its border with Oyo State.

“The commissioner of police, while assessing the situation, noticed that the individuals had no clear destination or a convincing explanation for their movement. Acting on his professional instincts, he ordered a search of their persons and belongings, leading to the recovery of dangerous weapons, including daggers, knives, cutlasses, and suspected charms,” Odutola said in a statement.

Following the discovery, the police commissioner directed that all suspects be detained and profiled. He further instructed that those found guilty of any criminal offense be swiftly prosecuted to ensure justice is served.
