The Niger State Police Command has successfully rescued a kidnapped victim and recovered stolen livestock from suspected cattle rustlers in Minna.

State Police Public Relations Officer SP W. Abiodun disclosed this on Friday, confirming that a 36-year-old student of Veritas University, Abuja, Cornelius Damulak, was found and rescued by a police patrol team from the Chanchaga division on February 14, 2025, around noon.

Damulak had been abducted from his home in Bwari, Abuja, on February 6 at about 5 a.m.

However, he managed to escape from his captors and was later discovered wandering along the Pogo-Paiko highway in Minna.

“The victim has been taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention, and efforts are ongoing to locate his family,” Abiodun stated.

Additionally, the police intercepted a vehicle transporting suspected stolen livestock in the Maitumbi area on February 11.

Five suspects were arrested in connection with the incident, and authorities recovered 11 cows and 34 sheep believed to have been rustled from Sarkin-Pawa.

The police spokesperson confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify the rightful owners of the recovered animals.
