Must read

The Ebonyi State Police Command has discovered additional evidence linked to the recent attack on residents of Amegu Nkalaha in Ishielu Local Government Area.

In a statement released on Friday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Joshua Ukandu, confirmed that security forces, including police operatives and Nigerian Army troops, acted on credible intelligence to raid criminal hideouts in Amegu and Umulesha villages.

The operation was part of the Commissioner of Police, CP Adaku Uche-Anya’s ongoing efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.

Ukandu revealed that upon arrival, the suspects opened fire on security personnel.

However, the operatives responded with superior firepower, forcing the attackers to flee into the bush. One suspect was apprehended during the operation.

As part of the raid, security forces dismantled the criminals’ hideouts and destroyed their shrines.

They also recovered two Dane guns, a motorcycle, and a mobile phone.

The police reassured the public of their commitment to bringing those responsible for the attack to justice.

Residents of Ebonyi State were urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement authorities.
