The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has launched an inquiry into an alleged N20 billion land fraud spanning different parts of the state.

Speaking to journalists in Kano on Thursday, the chairman of the commission, Muhuyi Magaji, confirmed the arrest of 15 individuals linked to the scandal.

Among those detained are the registrar of the Kano State High Court, three lawyers, and four officials from the Ministry of Lands.

Also implicated in the case are a former Deputy Sheriff and a court bailiff, who were taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation.

Magaji revealed that the suspects allegedly tried to bribe operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) with N2 million, but the offer was turned down.

He expressed appreciation to the Chief Judge of Kano State for their support and collaboration in the matter.

Additionally, Magaji praised Governor Abba Yusuf for his directive to pursue all individuals involved in the fraudulent scheme, emphasizing the governor’s commitment to ensuring that no one, regardless of position, is spared if found guilty.
