The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has initiated an investigation into an incident involving Dr. Chukwudi Okoye, a lecturer in the Department of Theatre Arts and Film Studies, and Goddy Mbakwe Precious, a third-year student in the Department of History and International Studies.
The incident, which has sparked reactions on social media, is being treated with urgency by the university. Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph I. Ikechebelu, has ordered a thorough and impartial investigation to ensure fairness.
“We are committed to upholding discipline, self-reliance, and excellence.
“This investigation will be transparent and unbiased,” said Njelita Louis O., Acting Head of Information, Public Relations, and Protocol.
The university urged the public to remain patient as the inquiry progresses.
“There is no place for indiscipline or misconduct within our community,” Louis added. Further updates will be provided as necessary.
