Bandit leader Kachalla Lukuti dies mysteriously, gang forced villagers to bury him

Must read

A notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Dan Lukuti, who orchestrated numerous deadly attacks in Zamfara and Katsina states, has reportedly died.

He died after suffering from a bizarre illness that left him barking like a dog before his death.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared the news on his Twitter page, reported that sources familiar with Lukuti’s activities revealed he fell gravely ill about a week ago.

His symptoms were described as highly unusual, including extreme aggression, uncontrollable spasms, and, in his final hours, persistent barking sounds akin to a rabid dog.

“The nature of his illness terrified his gang members, who refused to go near him,” one source disclosed.

“They kept their distance, watching helplessly until he finally passed away.”

Lukuti, who operated from the Kokonba forest in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, commanded a gang of over 50 heavily armed men.

He was responsible for numerous attacks in Dan Jiloga, Rijiya, Zonai, Magami, and along the Gusau-Magami highway, extending his violent operations into Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Despite his history of terrorizing communities, his final moments were marked by excruciating suffering.

Eyewitnesses told Zagazola that he howled and barked continuously until he died.

Overcome with fear and superstition, Lukuti’s gang reportedly forced villagers in Kizara to handle his burial.

“The locals had no choice but to lay him to rest at the primary school,” Zagazola added.
