A tragic incident unfolded in Funtua, Katsina state, on Tuesday morning as a man identified as Muhammad (Elalen) was fatally attacked while heading to the mosque for the Fajr prayer.
According to reports from Bakatsine, who shared the news on Twitter, Muhammad was stabbed by criminals during the attack. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries.
“Tragic news from Funtua this morning. Muhammad (Elalen) was on his way to the mosque for Fajr when he was attacked and stabbed. Unfortunately, he didn’t survive,” Bakatsine tweeted.
Following the incident, Muhammad’s funeral was conducted in accordance with Islamic rites.
The attack has sparked concern among residents, with many calling for improved security, especially during early morning and late-night hours.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
