Kidnappers demand N15m ransom for abducted Ondo students

Must read

Three students from the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, Ondo State, have been kidnapped by armed men while returning from their Industrial Training (IT) on a farm.

The abduction occurred on Saturday evening near Oba Ile, close to Akure Airport, when the assailants ambushed them and took them into the forest.

The kidnappers have since reached out to the victims’ families, demanding a ransom of N15 million for their release.

A relative of one of the students revealed that despite pleading for a reduction, the abductors have remained firm on their demand.

Struggling to raise the money, the affected families have called on the government and the public for assistance.

Confirming the incident, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, Commander of the Amotekun Corps, stated that security operatives have been deployed to track down the kidnappers and rescue the students.

He assured that efforts are ongoing to ensure their safe return.

The abduction has sparked fear among students and residents, who are increasingly concerned about the rising cases of kidnapping in the state.
