The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has officially ratified the expulsion of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Buba Galadima, and other members of the Kwankwassiya faction during its national convention.
Addressing journalists in Abuja, the newly elected National Chairman, Dr. Agbo Major, reaffirmed the party’s commitment to a court ruling instructing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize the Board of Trustees led by Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam.
The convention validated all congresses conducted from the ward to zonal levels and rejected a proposed new party logo, opting to retain the original emblem.
Dr. Agbo cautioned Kwankwaso’s loyalists against attempts to disrupt the party, advising them to leave peacefully rather than instigate disorder.
Additionally, the party reviewed its financial standing to reinforce internal structures and expressed optimism that INEC would update its records to reflect the leadership changes.
While emphasizing that the NNPP remains open to political alliances in the best interest of Nigerians, Dr. Agbo clarified that the party is not currently engaged in negotiations with any political group.
“The party has strengthened its internal structures through a financial review and is confident that INEC will update its records as directed by the court,” he stated.
“We are open to alliances that benefit the Nigerian electorate, but at the moment, we are not in talks with any political party. Any claims suggesting otherwise should be verified at the party’s secretariat. When the time comes, we will determine the way forward, always in the interest of Nigerians.”
Dr. Agbo assured that the NNPP remains united and focused as it prepares for the 2027 elections.
