Ganduje to Anambra Voters: APC will restore legacy of Ojukwu

Must read

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has urged the people of Anambra and the South-East to strengthen their ties with the ruling party for enhanced political and economic development.

Speaking at the inauguration of the APC state secretariat in Awka, Ganduje emphasized the party’s commitment to integrating Anambra into mainstream national politics, particularly ahead of the November gubernatorial election.

He described the Igbo people as highly nationalistic and asserted that their full potential could be better harnessed through active participation in the APC.

“We must be focused, we must have plans, and we must have a vision. I can see that the APC in Anambra is well aware of this,” Ganduje stated.

Encouraging the South-East to align with the national political structure, he metaphorically likened their current status to being on “rural electrification” and running on a “generator,” emphasizing the need to “connect to the national grid.”

Highlighting the region’s historical contributions, Ganduje added, “We want to take you back to the good old days of Ojukwu when he was pardoned and returned in the spirit of national unity, and to the days of Nnamdi Azikiwe.”

He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring Anambra’s full integration into the national political landscape, beginning with the upcoming elections.

At the event, two APC governorship aspirants, Sir Paul Chukwuma and Professor Obiora Okonkwo, who contributed to the establishment of the party’s new secretariat, expressed their confidence in APC’s chances in Anambra.

Chukwuma declared, “Today marks the beginning of APC’s victory in Anambra.”

Similarly, Okonkwo assured party members, “If you give me the ticket, I will secure the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) for the Anambra Government House.”
