Armed bandits kidnapped Hon. Nasiru Singa, along with his wife and two children, while they were travelling from Katsina to Jibia.
The abduction was confirmed by security analyst and expert Bakatsine who reside in the Northern part of Nigeria.
Bakatsine revealed the details of the abduction on his Twitter page.
He wrote that the attack occurred on the Katsina highway, a notorious route for bandit attacks.
“ALERT: Bandits kidnapped Hon. Nasiru Singa Wagini, wife and his two children on their way to Jibia from Katsina”, the post read.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement, but security operatives are reportedly mobilizing efforts to locate and rescue the victims.
The kidnapping adds to the growing insecurity in Katsina State, where banditry and abductions have become rampant.
Residents are calling on the government to take urgent action to curb the escalating violence.
