Trump signs executive order banning transgender athletes from women’s sports

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order prohibiting transgender student athletes from competing in women’s sports.

Speaking at the signing ceremony on Wednesday, Trump declared, “With this executive order, the war on women’s sports is over.”

Following the announcement, he reiterated his stance on Truth Social, warning federally funded schools against violating the order.

“We are putting every school receiving taxpayer dollars on notice: If you let men take over women’s sports teams or invade your locker rooms, you will be investigated for violations of Title IX and risk your federal funding,” he stated.

The move follows an earlier executive order in January, where Trump, asserting that there are only two genders, banned gender-affirming surgeries for minors.
