Two individuals have been taken into custody by Bauchi State Police Command operations in connection with two distinct child abuse cases, involving the alleged kidnapping of a 10-year-old girl and the assault of a 5-year-old girl.
In the first instance, a 45-year-old man named Shehu Isah “m” from Unguwan Karofi in the Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi State was detained by Command agents for enticing a five-year-old girl (name withheld) and forcibly having sex with her in his chamber.
According to reports, the tragedy happened on January 25, 2025.
CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the Bauchi Command spokesman, disclosed the unpleasant occurrence on Wednesday
He said that locals’ tips led to the criminals’ detention.
Similarly, on January 16, 2025, Shafi’u Sule of Katsinawa Tabulawa village was apprehended by Ningi Division detectives after he was discovered with a 10-year-old girl who had gone missing.
According to the investigation, he had abducted her the night before and threatened to burn her alive and chop off her tongue if she yelled for assistance.
The cases have been forwarded to the State Criminal Inquiry Department (SCID) for additional inquiry and prosecution after both individuals allegedly confessed to their offences.
The Command encouraged the people to stay alert and report any suspicious activity while assuring locals of its dedication to combating crime.
