Kaduna pilgrims agency to begin second phase of 2023 Hajj refunds

Must read

The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (KSPWA) has announced that a new round of refunds for participants of the 2023 Hajj will commence this week.

In a statement issued by the agency’s spokesperson, Yunusa Muhammad Abdullahi, it was revealed that over 3,000 pilgrims have already received refunds from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), with each beneficiary getting N61,080 directly deposited into their bank accounts.

The statement urged 2023 Hajj pilgrims who are yet to receive their refunds to contact their respective local government registration officers for assistance.

The refunds were attributed to disruptions caused by power outages at Muna, which affected cooling systems and created discomfort for the pilgrims during their stay.

Abdullahi expressed appreciation for the patience shown by those still awaiting their refunds, assuring them that the agency is actively working to finalize the disbursement in the upcoming phase.

He also pointed out that delays were partly due to incomplete account details provided by some pilgrims, emphasizing the importance of accurate information for swift processing.

Quoting the agency’s executive chairman, Malam Salihu Abubakar, the statement reaffirmed KSPWA’s commitment to ensuring all eligible pilgrims receive their refunds promptly.

Additionally, the agency is simultaneously preparing for the 2025 Hajj exercise, according to the statement.
