Chief Bode George, a senior figure in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has called for an immediate resolution to the ongoing crisis within the party, specifically addressing the tensions between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
Expressing his frustration with the prolonged dispute, George condemned the situation as “nonsense,” urging both Atiku and Wike to set aside their differences for the sake of the party’s future. He emphasized that unity is essential for the survival of the PDP and warned that continued infighting would further damage the party’s credibility and prospects in upcoming elections.
A former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, George made it clear that personal conflicts should not take precedence over the collective interests of the party.
He reminded party leaders of the PDP’s resilience in past challenges and encouraged them to draw inspiration from the party’s founders.
“We need to come together. I’m urging Atiku and Wike to be bold enough and put an end to this issue. Enough of this nonsense,” George stated in an interview with Daily Independent.
The ongoing friction between Atiku and Wike has been a significant source of concern within the PDP, particularly following the 2023 presidential election.
