Kaduna police begin enforcement of mandatory third-party vehicle insurance

Must read

Starting February 1, 2025, the Kaduna State Police Command has launched a strict enforcement campaign for the compulsory Third-Party Insurance Policy for all motor vehicles.

This initiative follows the directive of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, according to a statement released on Saturday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan.

Hassan revealed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, has ordered full implementation of the policy to ensure that vehicle owners comply with the mandatory insurance requirement.

The policy is designed to provide financial protection for road users in the event of accidents involving insured vehicles.

Highlighting the importance of the enforcement, Hassan stated that it aims to enhance road safety and minimize accident-related risks.

He urged all motorists to secure valid Third-Party Insurance coverage without delay, warning that violators will face legal penalties as prescribed by law.

“The goal is to protect all road users by ensuring compliance with this mandatory insurance policy,” Hassan noted.

The police also advised vehicle owners to obtain their insurance from accredited providers to avoid sanctions during routine checks.
