FG suspends air licenses of two air operators

Must read

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has officially withdrawn the Air Operator Certificates (AOCs) of Eastwind Aviation Logistics Services Limited and Omni-Blu Aviation due to breaches of aviation regulations.

The revocation stems from violations of Section 1.2.1.5 of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs), which strictly prohibits the falsification, alteration, or unauthorized reproduction of applications, licenses, certificates, logbooks, reports, or records.

In a statement, the NCAA emphasized that the action aligns with its broader initiative to enforce strict compliance within the aviation sector, ensuring operators maintain the highest levels of integrity and safety.

Both Eastwind Aviation and Omni-Blu Aviation were found guilty of regulatory infractions, leading to the immediate withdrawal of their operational licenses.

With their AOCs revoked, both companies are no longer permitted to conduct commercial air transport activities.

Eastwind Aviation specialized in providing helicopter services to Nigeria’s oil and gas industries and government agencies, while Omni-Blu Aviation offered offshore helicopter charters, as well as business jet and helicopter charter services.

This decisive move underscores the NCAA’s commitment to maintaining safety and regulatory standards within the Nigerian aviation industry.
