Several soldiers from Myoung Barracks in Lagos are feared dead after a suspected drunk driver crashed into them while they were engaged in morning physical training.
The tragic incident occurred early Friday, sparking fear and anxiety within the military community as families and colleagues awaited news of those affected.
“There was blood everywhere. I survived only because I was at the back,” a soldier at the scene told our reporter.
Witnesses said the vehicle, carrying three young men believed to be internet fraudsters (Yahoo Boys), rammed into the soldiers near the barracks’ sports camp.
While one suspect fled immediately, the remaining two were severely beaten by onlookers, and their vehicle was vandalized.
