NYSC DG reveals when corps members will receive N77,000 monthly allowance

Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has announced that corps members will begin receiving a monthly allowance of N77,000 starting in February 2025.

The announcement was made on Thursday during a meeting with the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina.

General Ahmed explained that the increase is part of the 2025 Federal Government budget, and once it is approved, corps members will begin receiving the new allowance, replacing the previous N33,000.

“The budget for 2025 is yet to be passed, but once it is approved, by next month, you will start receiving N77,000 instead of the usual N33,000,” he said.

He emphasized that the Federal Government approved the increase and urged corps members to show gratitude by demonstrating dedication throughout their service year.

The NYSC DG also reassured corps members of their safety, confirming that they will not be posted to areas with security concerns.

“We will not send our corps members to areas with security threats. Wherever they are posted, they can rest assured that the location is safe for their service,” he added.
