A district head from the Zazzau Emirate in Kaduna State, Alhaji Rilwan Yahaya Pate, has passed away after collapsing during an event on Thursday.
Pate, who held the title of Sarkin Yakin Zazzau, was attending the event alongside the Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, when he suddenly fainted.
The incident took place at Gambo Sawaba General Hospital in Kofar Gayan, Zaria.
The Zazzau Emirate Council confirmed his passing, stating that Alhaji Pate, who also served as a councillor on health matters, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
His remains were laid to rest later that evening in Rimin Dodo.
In a condolence message, Emir Bamalli expressed deep sorrow over the loss, emphasizing that death is an inevitable part of life and God’s divine plan. He described the late Sarkin Yakin Zazzau as a devout and committed leader whose contributions would be sorely missed.
