Bauchi Speaker condemns Dogara’s criticism of Gov. Bala Mohammed

Must read

Abubakar Suleiman, Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, has criticized Yakubu Dogara over his recent remarks about Governor Bala Mohammed.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Mulhtar Kobi, Suleiman described Dogara’s comments as “verbose, baseless, and self-serving diatribe.”

Dogara, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, had earlier accused Governor Mohammed of being an ingrate and betrayer for criticizing Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, after Wike’s alliance with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Tinubu. Dogara also claimed that Governor Mohammed had previously sought financial support from Wike for his governorship campaign.

In response, Suleiman defended Governor Mohammed, describing him as a statesman with outstanding leadership qualities.

He stated, “Governor Mohammed’s record of service, his widespread appeal among the people, and his commitment to governance earned him the people’s mandate, not through secretive deals or personal favors.”

Suleiman further emphasized that unlike some politicians who rely on personal wealth, Governor Bala Mohammed’s leadership is based on inclusivity, transparency, and trust—qualities that powered his campaign, rather than the influence of any single individual.
