Delta Police arrest one over alleged gang rape of 13-year-old girl

One suspect has been taken into custody by police after three others fled the scene of the alleged nocturnal rape of a thirteen-year-old girl in Delta State’s Ugbomoro Community, Uvwie Local Government Area.

AFRIPOST gathered that the incident allegedly took place on January 24, 2025.

The young girl was reportedly on an errand for her parents when the suspect and three other people who had already used sex-enhancement drugs called and tricked her into going to their flat and had sex with her until dawn before letting her go the following morning.

After the culprit freed the young child, her relatives apparently located her after searching for her all night.

Bright Edafe, the public relations officer for the Delta State Police, corroborated the claim over the phone with Our Correspondent when reached for comment.

Three suspects are still at large, according to the police image maker, while one suspect has already been taken into custody.

“Verified,” he said. I have not yet been given the name.

He claimed that efforts are still being made to apprehend the escaping criminals.
