A man identified as Oluwaseun has been reportedly killed by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in Upenmen, located in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The attack happened on Saturday when Oluwaseun and two others, whose identities are yet to be confirmed, were ambushed by the attackers. According to an anonymous source, Oluwaseun was shot while trying to flee, and the other two individuals were abducted.
Residents of the community are reportedly living in fear due to a rise in kidnapping cases in the area.
Confirming the incident, a community leader, Mr. Owadara Lanre, called on the government and security operatives to urgently address the growing security challenges in Upenmen.
Efforts to contact the community’s traditional ruler for comments were unsuccessful, as his phone numbers were unreachable at the time of this report.
