Your presidential ambition dead on arrival – Wike hits back at Bauchi Gov

Must read

The Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister, Lere Olayinka, speaking on behalf of Minister Nyesom Wike, has issued a sharp rebuke to Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed.

In a statement released on Monday, Olayinka dismissed Mohammed as an “ineffectual being” whose alleged ambition to contest for the presidency in 2027 is “dead on arrival.”

“We are done with any object by the name Bala Mohammed. We won’t be available to be used by any ineffectual being to launch a dead-on-arrival 2027 presidential ambition,” Olayinka stated.

The comments came in response to criticisms from Governor Mohammed, who had accused Wike of lacking integrity for accepting a ministerial role in President Bola Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

Olayinka countered Mohammed’s remarks by accusing him of hypocrisy and questioning his leadership capabilities, particularly as the head of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum.

He reminded the Bauchi governor of his own political history, pointing out instances where Mohammed had accepted roles under a ruling government despite being in opposition.

“Bala Mohammed, who left his ANPP Senatorial mandate to become a Minister under the PDP government of President Goodluck Jonathan, is now running his mouth like a faulty tap,” Olayinka said.

He further alleged that Mohammed would have readily accepted even a minor position under the APC government in 2015.

“If offered even a Special Assistant position by the APC government in 2015, Bala Mohammed would have accepted it and defected,” he added.
