The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the abduction of four individuals in the Chikakore community of Bwari Area Council.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, the attackers, seven in number, disguised themselves as vigilantes to gain entry into the community.
She stated that efforts are underway to apprehend the suspects and ensure the safe rescue of the victims.
“In the early hours of January 27, 2025, at around 1:00 A.M., the FCT Police Command received a distress call about an abduction and assault incident in Chikakore,” Adeh disclosed in a statement shared with Daily Post. “Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.”
She further explained that preliminary investigations revealed the attackers, armed with machetes and sticks, tricked a resident into opening his gate.
“They subsequently abducted the man and three of his family members. A neighbor who tried to intervene was injured and taken to Kubwa General Hospital for treatment,” she added.
Adeh assured the public that the police have initiated a detailed search and rescue mission to recover the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
She also urged residents to remain vigilant and provide any information that could assist the investigation.
“Any useful information that could aid in locating the suspects or victims should be reported to the police through the provided emergency lines,” she said, listing contact numbers for prompt communication.
The police emphasized the importance of community cooperation in addressing the situation, encouraging residents to stay calm and proactive in ensuring safety.
