Lagos man dies in lone crash near Buhari estate on Badagry Expressway

Must read

A fatal car accident occurred on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway near Age-Mowo, just after Buhari Estate, on Sunday evening, resulting in the death of one person.

Williams Manga, the Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Badagry, confirmed that another individual was injured in the crash, which took place around 8:30 p.m.

“The FRSC received an alert at 8:40 p.m. and responded promptly, arriving at the scene by 8:50 p.m. The accident involved a Lexus car without a registration number,” Manga said.

“Preliminary investigations suggest that speeding was a factor in the crash. The passenger sustained multiple fractures and internal injuries.”

Manga further explained that the rescue team was unable to remove the body due to interference from the deceased’s family and local youths.

“They became confrontational, blocking the expressway and demanding that the body not be taken to the hospital. As a result, we had to return to our base,” he said.

The FRSC commander appealed to the public to allow law enforcement officers to perform their duties and urged motorists to drive cautiously to prevent accidents.
