An officer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), identified as Sylvanus, was discovered lifeless on a Lagos street, according to a viral video circulating online.
The video shows Sylvanus dressed in burgundy traditional attire, lying motionless on the road.
Surrounding him were bystanders, including two police officers, who searched a small bag in his possession for identification.
An identity card found in the bag revealed his affiliation with the EFCC.
Voices in the video, including that of a policeman, confirmed, “Where e dey work? Nah EFCC. His ID card dey there.”
The cause of his death remains unknown, but Dele Oyewale, the EFCC spokesperson, stated, “The death is being investigated.”
This incident follows another tragic event involving EFCC personnel. Just two weeks earlier, Aminu Salisu, another official, was fatally shot during a raid in Awka, Anambra State’s capital.
