Tinubu sends condolences to families of Enugu tanker explosion victims

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the families of those affected by the tragic tanker explosion in Enugu State.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, and titled “President Tinubu Mourns Victims of Fuel Tanker Explosion, Condoles with Enugu State Government”, the president mourned the loss of lives and offered prayers for the injured and deceased.

The incident occurred on Saturday when a fuel tanker reportedly lost control and burst into flames while navigating the Ugwu-Onyeama section of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway.

This follows a similar explosion in Niger State earlier in the week, which claimed over 80 lives.

President Tinubu urged road users, especially fuel tanker operators, to prioritize safety and exercise caution to prevent such tragedies.

He also called on traffic enforcement agencies to implement stricter measures to curb recurring tanker explosions across the country.

The president prayed for the quick recovery of those injured and for the repose of the souls of the deceased, reiterating his commitment to enhancing road safety nationwide.
