House of Representatives shifts plenary resumption to February, gives reason

The House of Representatives has postponed its resumption of plenary, initially slated for Tuesday, January 28, 2025, to a new date of Tuesday, February 4, 2025.

The announcement was made in a statement by the House spokesperson, Hon. Akin Rotimi.

According to him, the decision was conveyed to members through an internal memorandum from the Clerk of the House, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, acting on the directive of the House leadership.

Rotimi explained that the postponement aims to give committees additional time to complete ongoing budget reviews and defence sessions with ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs).

This step is intended to ensure a more detailed and effective legislative process.

The House reaffirmed its dedication to its legislative duties in the interest of Nigerians and expressed gratitude for the cooperation of all stakeholders.
