Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has sharply criticized the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Governor Bala described Wike as a “transactional politician” whose political affiliations change to suit his personal ambitions.
The criticism came in a press release issued on Thursday by Governor Mohammed’s Special Adviser for Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, in response to Wike’s recent comments regarding Mohammed’s opposition to President Bola Tinubu’s Tax Reform Bills.
Gidado dismissed Wike’s comments as “baseless” and “hypocritical,” accusing him of political opportunism and inconsistency.
He pointed out that Wike, who once identified as a loyal member of the PDP, now supports the APC government, even advocating for its re-election in 2027 while still claiming PDP affiliation.
Gidado further condemned Wike for undermining the party that helped him rise in politics, calling his actions self-serving and detrimental to the party’s integrity.
He also dismissed Wike’s claims about their personal relationship as irrelevant to governance, emphasizing that leadership is defined by competence and vision.
