Retired police inspector caught conducting unauthorized stop-and-search operation

Must read

A Monday Linus, previously caught conducting unauthorized stop-and-search operations in 2022, has resurfaced in public discourse.

The controversy gained traction after the Instagram account @whiteshark_blog shared a post showing Monday dressed in police uniform, with an ID card bearing the number 6257.

The post quickly garnered 175 likes and over 30 comments.

Although the post and comments did not specify the location of the incident, it was noted that Monday had been paraded at a local police division.

An Instagram user, @_shopping_for_free, urged authorities to apprehend Monday’s collaborators, arguing that such operations are rarely carried out by a single individual.

Another commenter, @alhaji_highway, criticized the act as habitual corruption.

This development coincided with the Kaduna State Police Command’s arrest of another impersonator, Rabiu Sani, who had allegedly posed as a police officer for over a decade.

According to ASP Mansir Hassan, the command’s spokesperson, Sani was apprehended following credible intelligence.

He had reportedly frequented courts and police divisions under the guise of being an officer. During his arrest, a counterfeit police ID card was recovered.

“Sani had been impersonating law enforcement for more than 10 years, operating primarily around court premises,” Hassan stated.

“We are committed to identifying and prosecuting others involved in similar criminal activities.”

During his parade at the command headquarters, Sani admitted his guilt, claiming his actions were driven by admiration for police work.

“I know impersonation is a crime. I ask for forgiveness. I only operated within court premises because I love the profession,” he confessed.
