Leader of Simon Ekpa’s Biafra Army vows to bring Nigeria down in fresh video

Must read

A man identifying himself as Gentle, a leader of the Biafran Liberation Army under Simon Ekpa has pledged to intensify attacks in Nigeria’s South-East until, according to him, the country collapses.

The armed group operates under the influence of Finland-based separatist agitator Simon Ekpa.

Ekpa, who advocates for the establishment of a Biafra Nation under the self-declared Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BGIE), is currently detained in Finland on terrorism-related charges.

While Ekpa claims his mission aligns with the goals of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu, both Kanu and IPOB have publicly distanced themselves from him and his activities.

In two videos shared on X by @KizyUzoma, Gentle, who is reportedly on Nigerian security agencies’ wanted list, denied having any fixed base of operations and vowed to continue his campaign against the Nigerian state.

“For their information, I, Gentle, am everywhere. I don’t have a camp. I must make sure Nigeria falls, and it already is.

“Let the world know we are tired of the propaganda from Nigerian terrorists. We don’t want to belong to Nigeria anymore,” he declared.

Gentle also insisted he is not Nigerian and expressed defiance toward ongoing efforts to capture him.

“Why are they searching for me like this? Why are they so worried about me? I’m a Biafran. They cannot kill me; my life is not in their hands,” he stated.

The rebel leader reiterated his stance against being associated with Nigeria, claiming he had never traveled to the northern region and only briefly visited Lagos.

Nigerian authorities have yet to issue an official response to his latest threats.
